Tools for Caregivers: Resources You Can Use When a Senior Relies on You

The 4th annual “Tools for Caregivers” day will be held On Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Hudson Valley Community College’s Bulmer Communications Center in Troy.

The Capital Region Caregiver Coalition will sponsor this annual event carefully designed to be educational and offer support to family caregivers. The day consists of a morning of workshops and a resource fair. Family caregivers provide assistance to senior relatives, friends, significant others and neighbors who are elderly, ill or disabled.

Participants will choose from a variety of workshops presented by area professionals. In addition, informational tables will be staffed by dozens of local agencies. This year, an informal, open dialogue with a panel staffed with professionals will be held in the auditorium where attendees can ask questions and share information with others on their experiences and needs as a family caregiver.
