Snyder’s Lake

PUBLIC NOTICE 6/5/2019 – The Snyder’s Lake Association has received approval from NYS DEC to apply ProcellaCOR EC, an aquatic herbicide, into Snyder’s Lake for the control of Eurasian water milfoil. The permit numbers associated with this approval are 4-3832-00073/00004 (wetlands permit) and AV-4-19-37 (pesticides permit). This activity is scheduled to occur on June 13, 2019. In accordance with the permit, public shorelines will be posted to inform the public of this activity. Posting will occur on the day of the herbicide application. Signage will remain posted for the entire time that the restrictions apply. The chemical dosage to be applied will not exceed 3.9 ppb. The water use restrictions are: Swimming – None Fishing – None Potable Water – None, since the application rate is less than 50 parts per billion. Livestock Watering – Prohibited until concentration is less than 1 part per billion. Irrigation – Prohibited for 5 days or until concentration is less than 1 part per billion. A post-treatment inspection will be conducted approximately 3-10 days following treatment to collect samples for herbicide residue analysis. The Snyder’s Lake Association will post the results of this analysis on the organization’s website: when the results are made available.

Pavilion rental dates for 2019 are filling up fast!  Many residents have enjoyed the pavilion for family reunions, graduation parties, and even weddings!   Please be advised that no swimming is permitted when lifeguards are not on duty.
